Playoff Blog: Game 2, Third Quarter
Posted by: Micah Hart on April 23, 2008 at 9:42PM EST
11:34 - It is aggravating how many shots the Celtics are making at the end of the shot clock tonight. The Hawks played good defense for 23 seconds, and then Paul Pierce drained a 3-pointer with Joe right in his face.

10:45 - Josh Smith is playing terrific defense tonight, as he just recorded his 3rd blocked shot of the game. He followed it up with a lay-up at the other end, and now leads the team with 12 points.

8:54 - I may respect Garnett, but I'd be terrified to be his teammate. I don't think I'd ever want to do anything right, because he has a tendency to beat the crap out of his teammates as some sort of bizarre reward. Kendrick Perkins just drew an And-1, and Garnett nearly gave him the Heimlich. I'm glad that's not the way it works at our offices...

5:26 - The Hawks are getting a few more stops, and if we can get some more easy baskets like the one Mike Bibby just got, we can get back in this. Joe Johnson has gotten a few buckets so far, and hopefully that layup by Bibby will get him going as well.

3:19 - Turnovers. They are bad. They have led to 19 Boston points, which just so happens to be the difference in the game right now. This just isn't shaping up to be our night.

2:06 - Acie Law hits another shot late in the shot clock. His performance tonight has been by far the biggest bright spot.

1:00 - And Al Horford. The rookies have played very well tonight. Horford just hit a sweet hook shot from the right block, then followed that a possession later with what is quickly becoming a patented sight - a tough offensive rebound in traffic and a sick throwdown to boot. I shudder to think what Big Al is going to be doing in this league in his third year.

0:00 - 76-58 Boston. I want very badly for us to make this game interesting,  but much like in Game 1 we can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn. If the score stays where it is, I hope we get a lot of PT for Acie Law to continue to build his confidence for the rest of this series and beyond.

something's not clicking with our offense,
or does it just seem like that because of the celtics defense & never-ending scoring?

This crowd sounds awful. I hope the Hawks have sold out crowds helping them out. Also, I know they'll shoot better at Phillips.
