Playoff Blog: Game 2, Fourth Quarter

11:15 - Josh Childress sneaks through the D for a lay-up, incredibly his first two points of the game. You really have to hand it to the Celtics for the way they have defended us in the first two games so far.

10:19 - I think Chills is taking exception to the fact that it took him so long to score, so he knifes into the lane again for another bucket. It's back to a 14-point game now, by the way.

8:39 - After the physical start to the game, it kind of died down a bit for awhile. But James Posey just tossed Josh Smith to the deck, drawing a flagrant foul, and the intensity has returned. I don't know if the foul deserved a flagrant, but my guess is the refs want to keep the game (and series) from getting out of hand - kind of like warning both benches in baseball.

7:07 - I maintain the reason the Hawks are losing these games are offensive and not defensive problems. It's not shutdown caliber defense necessarily, but it's enough to keep them competitive for sure. Looking forward, the Hawks are going to have to hope the hometown rims are kinder to them tan the ones here at the Garden.

5:40 - Things are getting a little chippy, as every foul now seems to be met with several stares in an opponent's direction. You gotta love playoff basketball.

3:15 - Joe and Mike just left the game, and with that I am going to shut down to get ready to head to the locker room. We are leaving pretty soon after the game, so I probably won't have much of a recap until tomorrow morning. A tough loss, but we'll just have to get it back in Atlanta.
