Photos From Media Day
Posted by: Micah Hart on September 29, 2008 at 10:08PM EST

At the beginning of the season, there are always a few bumps in the road. That's what training camp is for, no? Today's hiccup saw the internet connection at the office go down for most of the afternoon, which is why I am just able to post this stuff now. I'll have more tomorrow as the team commences practices for the first time, but sufficed to say Media Day was a success, if such a thing can be determined so.

Everyone seemed happy to be back, and guys were clowning around with each other in between giving interviews with the media on hand. Maurice Evans in particular seemed to fit right in with his new teammates, getting into a few shooting contests with Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby. The other thing noticeable right off the bat? Muscles. Specifically those belonging to Marvin Williams and Solomon Jones, each of whom appear to have bulked up considerably in the offseason.

We grabbed several interviews with the guys (and by we I mean ace Hawks broadcaster Bob Rathbun), and we'll post them in the morning.

In the meantime, here are some photos from the event this afternoon.

More after the jump...

I read that Jeremy Richardson was added to Orlando's training-camp roster.

It's a shame Woody was clue-less on how to use him.

This is the first year, that as a season ticketholder, I have been able to see the same 5 starters return, which i think in the long run will be beneficial. As best as I can figure, there are only three teams coming in with this situation this season.

What I feel, I would like to see, is our bench challenging our core 5 starters for thier pos'n.

With respect to Coach Woodson, I think he is taking a realistic approach in acknowledging that this is the year to put up or ship out. as a fan of Woody, I am looking forward to being a beneficiary of him reaching his goals.

I am concerned that we have brought on too many rookies who hope to make the team. I will also say this, I hope that Woody will not play our starting rotation heavily in the preseason. Put all those rookies in and let Solomon (a gifted 4 pos'n player) and Mario log some minutes of meaningful playtime.

YEAH! Love the pictures.

You definitely have me excited Fan Mom. I just now realized this is the first time we're getting the same starting 5 from the season before since I've been a fan of the Hawks.

Do not be dismayed Dondada, there are many naysayers out there, but do not let that beat you down, there are a lot of us out there who know that we have the youth and determination to go all the way. greet them as i do repeatedly: " Hi Haters !"

Its a shame do to the economic situation going on right now i will not be able to be a season ticketholder. Bit i promise yall i will try my best to go to as many games possible. Unlike half those people that showed up during the playoffs im not a ban waggon fan and i will not abandon yall. Espn has predicted yall to hake it to the 13 seed this year and 5th in your division. Go out there and prove their asses wrong! Lets bring home a championship! LETS GO HAWKS!!!
