Live Blog: Game 5, Fourth Quarter
Posted by: Micah Hart on April 30, 2008 at 10:52PM EST
11:00 - Posey starts the fourth for Boston with another three. I looked up just now at their 3-pt shooting %, and amazingly (to me at least), they are only 8-17. I swear it seems like they are 11-15.

8:25 - I think the last two games have maybe made us forget just how good the Celtics are. I swear to you, the Hawks are playing by far their best game in Boston in this series, and it hasn't made a lick of difference. I wouldn't pretend to assume we will win Game 6 at home, but if we do, we are going to have to really work hard to figure out how to do better in this building. To move on, we know we have to win one here, it's that simple. But let's worry about Game 6 before we ever entertain any notions of how to prepare for Game 7.

7:56 - One person who has played well tonight (who didn't do so well the first two times here) is Joe Johnson. That's not a surprise of course, but he does have 16 points despite sitting out 11 minutes in the first half.

5:19 - The Hawks made a mini-run to cut it to 13, but two straight buckets by the Celtics have it back to 17. And with that, I'm going to cut the live blog short here so I can get some post-game stuff done before we have to leave for the plane back to Atlanta. I know we are losing, and I know it's by as much as the other two games, but I feel MUCH better about our chances here. We've played well - the Celtics have just played better. Back to Atlanta we go...

wow only 8 of 17? *sigh* It could be worse ya'll, we could be in the same position as the suns, nuggets, and mavs.

Let me just say that tonight was about the worst officiating i've seen all season and definantly in the playoffs. How many times did the Hawks drive to the hoop and the whistle just wasn't blown. And what about horford getting smacked in the face? How was that not a technical? I mean they called a tech on Horford when he was going for the ball on KG. yes he took him to the floor, but there was no "foul play" with it. And how about Mike B....he basically got his leg taken off, but no tech on that... tonights refs really sucked!

Not the best game. JJ passing off a triple team and the shots weren't falling for the other guys. I kinda wished Salim and Richardson got some burn to see if they could make the Celtics pay. Nevertheless, Boston came out on fire.

I know Boston outplayed us, but DAMN! What's up with those refs? What does KG need to do to get ejected. He pushes a ref in game 4 and he talks to them like the step-mother to Cinderella in game 5 (with more colorful words). Not to mention the all the fake fouls on us and non-calls from them. KG and the Celtics (and Lebron) could have gotten away with murder last night.

Let's make the refs irrelevant in game 6 and send the series back to Boston. Let's make Phillips even louder than last time. LET'S GO HAWKS!

i thought i was just imagining things myself about the officiating. now you all have confirmed it.the game is still their for the taking if we just make some shots.
