Live Blog: Game 3, Pre-Game
Posted by: Micah Hart on April 27, 2008 at 4:07AM AFT
The stands are starting to fill up, and we are only 30 minutes away from the start of tonight's Game 3, the first playoff game for the Hawks at Philips Arena.

I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. The two losses in Boston were tough, but seeing the guys at practice the last two days and at shootaround today, they don't appear fazed at all. Maybe it's the optimism of youth, but I guess if it were me, I'd maybe be a little rattled. They aren't though, and that bodes well for their performance tonight.

As we saw this week, going down 2-0 in a series has not been the death knell one might think. Aside from Phoenix, every team in the playoffs that started out 0-2 on the road came home and won Game 3 in their own building (except for Houston, which somehow lost both games at home but won at Utah).

The key tonight, as we've said all series, is for the Hawks to get it going offensively. If they can use their advantage in youth and athletic ability to push the pace and get some baskets in transition, they have a shot. If they get locked into a halfcourt struggle, it's going to be tough for them to win.

Either way, I am excited to hear the home crowd rooting on the Hawks after seeing what it did for the Celtics in the first two games in Boston.

Let's go Hawks!
