Bumped over from Playoff Central... Tonight's game will hinge upon whether or not the Hawks can cure the offensive woes that plagued them in Game 1. Here are a few things in particular that will help them do that:1. Use the whole floor. A recurring theme I heard in talking to the Hawks over the last couple days (and repeated in my Breaking Down Game 2 segment with David Fizdale today) is that the team fell into a rut of only using one side of the floor on offense, which allowed the Celtics to dictate what the team did offensively and kept them from having to expend a ton of energy on defense. If the Hawks can play from sideline to sideline on offense tonight and make guys like Ray Allen and Paul Pierce expend more energy running around screens and picks, they'll have a much better shot of winning. 2. Get out in transition. As we've talked about before, the Celtics defense is the best in the league but it's most effective in the half court. If the Hawks can get out and run some, it will lead to easier baskets and again make the Celtics expend more energy on the defensive end. 3. Get Mike Bibby going. Bibby was a non-factor in Game 1, but the playoff veteran is too good to struggle two games in a row. Throughout his tenure with the Hawks so far, he's followed up bad games with good ones, and I expect he'll do the same tonight. Getting him going will get Joe going as well, and with those two scoring the Hawks should be able to make this a much closer contest.
