4 Weeks Till Camp...

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend. Mine was spent doing a whole
lotta nothin, which is just the way I like it. Things around the office are
starting to pick up now, as we say goodbye to summer hours and really get in
depth in our planning for the 2008-09 season. It's crazy to think the new year
is nearly upon us; it doesn't feel that long ago that we were duking it out with
the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
Nevertheless here we are, four weeks away from the beginning of training camp
(Media Day is Monday, Sept. 29, with the first practice set for Tuesday the
30th).
As we begin to look ahead, I know there are several questions on the minds of
Hawks fans. Here are couple that are on my mind:
1. Which Hawks players should we expect to improve in 2008-09?
Obviously, you'd like to think they all can, but let's be realistic. Not
every Hawks player will have a career-year next season. At this point, I think
you can say that guys like Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson are who they
are, and I don't expect them to do anything much differently than they have in
the past (not that that's a bad thing). Having said that, I remember one thing
specifically from
talking to new Hawks GM Rick Sund back in June - that because of the
team's youth, they are capable of taking a big step forward simply because there
are so many players on the roster on the upslope of their careers.
I think it's reasonable to expect improvement from Al Horford, Acie
Law, Josh Smith, and Marvin Williams. Of that group, my gut
tells me we'll see the biggest leap from Horford. Last season Horford was
somewhat of an afterthought on the offensive end, but I expect (or at least
hope) that he will be featured more prominently this year in the post. His post
moves are still developing, but he already has a big enough arsenal to score
consistently against the best defenders in the league (something he proved
against the Celtics).
2. How will we make up for the loss of Josh Childress?
Hawks broadcaster Steve Smith liked to call Chills the "Baseline Bum" for
all the work he did from the corners in, and his contributions from those spots
will be missed. Maurice Evans, signed from Orlando, will be the player who
presumably will be asked to pitch in the most. Let's take a look at their
seasons last year via my favorite tool,
the hotspot:

Childress scored almost twice as many buckets around the basket, but
Evans made
up for it by sniping from distance with much more frequency and accuracy (I
should note these aren't quite apples-to-apples comparisons, as Childress played
abut 500 more minutes). In particular, we see Evans' preference for the corners,
which makes me think he can make up a good bit of the offense missing from
Childress' departure.
In my mind, I figure the place we'll miss Childress the most is on the
offensive glass, where last season he was the best in the league amongst guards
by a wide margin (2.3 a game, with the Warriors' Monta Ellis a distant second at
1.6). However, in looking at the statistics a little closer, I noticed who was
the 6th best offensive-rebounding guard - Maurice Evans, who nabbed 1.2
offensive boards in only 22.9 minutes per game. I admit it's a little crude on
the math, but extrapolate Evans' rebound-rate up to Chills' minutes and he ends
up at 1.6 a game, right where Ellis is. Evans alone can't make up for Childress'
prowess on the boards, but hopefully guys like Al Horford, Zaza Pachulia, and
Randolph Morris will be able to eat up a few more of those as well.
What questions do you have going in to 2008-09?

How much time will Al Horford see in the PF spot this year?

i thought the Hawks did pretty good in the off season overall. I would have liked to see them get a more polished big man in the middle. Horford will be tough, but he is a more true power forward. I would move Josh to the three and let Joe do his thing. I still am not sold on Bibby. He has lost a lot of his game, but if Acie studies from him we might be okay at the point because we can't bank on anything from Speedy which I thought was a good move that never panned out. I thought the baby Hawks overachieved last year. I don't think they will be as good this year because several teams in the East got better 'on paper', but that's why they play the games, and i believe the Hawks think they are better than they really are. I sound like Mike Woodson lol. Go Hawks! Hopefully, everyone will stay healthy and some of the 'new blood' will step up. What are the Hawks' plans for Salim Stoudamire?

Im not really excited about this year bcuz we lost j-chill and we almost lost j-smoov. I feel like our organizations needs to do better when it comes to signing ppl. the ppl that the hawks have signed are'nt no help just extra baggage. what we need is a SUPERSTAR. im a ride or die hawks fan and all i want is a lil bit of a change. we need a bigman to help out al horford out in the post.

The hawks should've resigned bothes joshes at the early stage of free agency. Our chemistry would've been really good this year, and then signed these free agents to make a trade for a young, promising center like lamarcus aldridge. He would've been perfect we could've made a trade like mo evans/flip murray, speedy claxton, zaza, and 2nd round pick for aldridge & outlaw. Then tried to get some1 like david lee who the knicks have said they wanted to trade. It would've gave us more cap space and a young talented team. Move aldridge to center, horford to pf, j smoove to sf, jj at sg, and bibby at pg. then off the bench acie law at pg, j chill at sg, outlaw at sf, david lee at pf, marvin williams - combo forward, soloman jones/othello hunter and randolph morris. I would've really wanted to resign salim stoudamire and give him more playing time and used him like how the cavs use daniel gibson and damon jones. But it all started when they resigned mike woodson who can't develop players when there were other coaches like saunders and avery johnson out there to lead this team. Rick Sund = failure, I believe D Wilks could've done a better job but im not a GM so this is just an opinion

Great read.
My biggest question coming into the season is how much will Marvin Williams improve? He's shown flashes on why we drafted him #2 but we need him to be more consistent and more aggressive.
I love the fact that we have continuity. We kept Woodson and all our core players, with the exception of Josh Childress.
Another thing I'm wondering about is how healthy Mike Bibby and Speedy Claxton will be.....bringing me to another question....can Acie Law step up as a starting PG next season when Bibby and Claxton are out?

let's trade Marvin already.
he's just another athletic guy on the court who can make some of his jumpshots. He makes no other palpable contributions, not in defense nor in getting the ball (rebounding, getting steals, grabbing loose balls), he's not a good teamplayer, he's a kind of a semi-'black hole', nor can he be counted on to score.
sell him to the Knicks for David Lee. Lee may not be a flashy player but he makes all those important contributions (rebounding, hustle, makes a lot of shots up close). He is the kind of guy that would be perfect for a team with multiple jumpshooters.

Hey blue hawk Are you sure you are a Hawk fan? You sound like a Knick undercover trying to shop this guy. His stats don't add up compared to Marvin. Thanks but no thanks.
When you think of Marvin during his development process, you have to think about VIAGRA. YOU WANT TO STICK AND STAY NOT GET OFF EARLY. With this mentality, we can better evaluate him after this season.

The only question I have is: ARE THE OTHER NBA TEAMS READY FOR THE HAWKS?
*The only thing the Hawks need right now is confidence in their skills, teamwork, the desire to win, and a fighting spirit not to settle for anything less.
I believe the Hawks are just as good or better than any other team in the NBA.
Who cares that the other teams have so called made their team better. So have the Hawks!
HAWKS IN 08-09!
Again my question is: ARE THE OTHER NBA TEAMS READY FOR THE ATLANTA HAWKS?

There can be a lot of question in the moves that were made but the biggest one to me is why didn't we trade ZaZa Speedy and Marvin for a good center yes AL did a good job last season but the man is a power forward and that's the position he need to play. I agree with Vic anyone that think our team is a playoff contending team this year is crazy one of the most important moves we needed to make did not happen and this will be an up hill season if they don't aquire someone.

To be honest I have a great feeling about the hawks this year, granted I have had that feeling many times before..... I do agree with the critics about the whole Childress thing but from a business side of things his move could not only never have been foreseen it is also more importantly for the NBA should have had teams barking at the Hawks to make the Chill market value ie- the way we got the market value of Smoove ended up making getting us the cheapest deal even if our commitment didn't look ernest. Because we did not offer a contract asap we lost him, agreed, but the market moved slower than molasseses this off season anyway... no teams were making big moves even for their franchise players early.
Now to the questions......
1. Whats the deal with Speedy? Will he be third guard or what? Just a bench guy with "experience"?
2. What about the bench we had? Looking at the hawks transactions this year, they saw something about Richardson that they could not pass up. Do they not feel the same way now? They signed him twice to 10-days and then for the rest of the year, he is a quality shooter and should be a good small forward or shooting guard. On that not what about the other ATL inspiration on the Hawks roster, MARIO WEST! To epitomize the most outstanding team player, motivator, and crazy D how did he do that look no further. SIGN him again he is a vital piece of the Hawks.... They made playoffs for first time with him! lol
And finally just a suggestion, ZAZA show us the spirit you had in the playoffs all next year. the kind of play that got you on the all star ballot
thank you

I think this will be a better season. From last season, I think we have improved on all positions except the small forward position. PG- Law(yr2), non - injured claxton and bibby + SG- Joe and evans/Murray + SF- Marvin/Evans .... PF- Smith/Horford + C- Zaza( accepting his back up role+ contract year )/Horford/Morris + Look for the hawks to fight for a home court in the first round of the playoffs. !!

I also had questions about Marvin Williams, and i'm a fan of his. I agree we should wait and see how he progresses this season. My thing was they aren't going to be able to keep everybody. That's the problem having so many of your stars play the same position. Horford, Smith, and Williams are all forwards. Plus going forward we need a reliable point guard to run the show. I like Acie Law but even healthy he's a backup at best. Personally I'd like to see Marvin traded for a high draft pick next year and we take Hasheem Thabeet; and then make a run at Rajon Rondo of the Celtics. For a starting unit of: Rondo, JJ, Smith, Horford, and Thabeet, but this all depends on what happens this year of course.

What I hope to see is a consistent rotation by our coaching staff in order to let the young guys develop. Law especially, but the other guys needs to know how many minutes they can expect every night so they can develop their games. Gotta happen.

any word on Mario West, Jeremy Richardson, Salim Stoudamire and James White joining or staying with the Hawks for this season.

Jacob, the fact is that he's targeted now. Many players knew he was good, but with the Playoff attention and his amazing games, guys are now focus on him when they play the Hawks. So for this season, I don't think he'll step up, he'll have the same great season, with maybe more assists to guys like Horford or Marvin who'll both have breakout seasons.
Keep your eyes on Marvin, Smoove, Acie and Al.

Ive read an article about how Acie and Marv have been practicing all offseason. Acie practicing on his all around game and marv his 3 ball..all this happend while al horford was in Italy..if he wants to get better he needs to work extra hard in training camp..and besides me has anyone noticed how many pg's we have....
Acie Maurce Flip Mike/ jeremey, salim and mario if we sign them bak..my take of it is that before the trade deadline were goanna trade half of them for a good big man like lemarcus aldrige or Andreai Bargyani

I agree the hawks have an abundance of point guards (and none of them future starter), but they are not going to get much for them in a trade. The hawks definitely have enough talent to make it to the top, now we'll see how far they can go with the little experience they have.

honestly I only see one true consistent sompetitive player night in and night out and thats Joe Johnson Bibby's primetime years was with the Kings so we cant expect much from him Smith is impressive but he doesnt have a great impact every night either the hawks shouldve gotten a better vet or they need to clone Joe because I cant see them really winning a championship anytime soon unless they get a great center or Kobe or Lebron ends up playing for the hawks the hawks really choose players unwisely other than joe and josh smith atlanta jus needs to get it together point blank period

I do believe Maurice Evans can do things for this Hawk squad that J-Chill couldn't like opening things up down low by being a consistent deep threat but at the same time J-Chill did do things for this team no other player did with his gym rat glass play, but with Horford playing more at PF and I guess J-Smoove playing at SF we won't need those offensive boards as much as the ball will be going in the hole at a high %. That said, I believe if Marvin doesn't improve drastically without the mid-to end of season fall off- it's time to move on. He was drafted way to high for his signature move to be a 14ft jumper. I really hope he makes me eat crow, but I swear I never seen a forward with two more dead feet than this guy. Now on to better comments...I think Al Horford and J-Smoove can be one of the most dynamically talented ying and yang duo EVER in the NBA! I think for all of Smoove's incredible athleticsicm that seems to coincide with his part-time tempermental cockiness, Horford is as fundamentally sound as is his management of his own emotion and natural born leadership. I believe Horford will have a very positive effect on Smoove, not in a "you need me to tell you how to be" way either. I mean that in a "that guy Horf inspires me to try and be better" type way by leading thru example. I believe Josh will come to see that even though Horf may seem to come off as a goodie -2-shoe dudley do right sometimes, that Al ain't no punk either and will have Smoove back 24-7 and I forsee those two becoming like brothers and holding the Eastern Conference hostage for the next ten years. I saw glimpses of that last season. Thats why if Marvin can give us anything- there is NO WAY with Horf, Smoove, and hopefully an improved Marvin that the Hawks can't improve on last year and knock someone off in the playoffs next year. Of course that all depends (and I'm seriously worried about this one) if the coach can manage not to FUBAR the whole situation....we'll see.

The good thing about this year is its bibbys last yr on his contract so the hawks will have all that extra money to sign a big man, and we can use this year for grooming Acie Law to take over next year as the starting point guard. This will open up Josh Smith at the small forward spot Now, I'm unsure what they'll do with Marvin Williams but I'm sure he can be an asset off the bench. I really believe thats his role in the NBA anyway. I think he could be a very important piece of the Atlanta Hawks bench.

1. Will JSmoove finally win Defensive Player of the Year? It seems like he gets overlooked because he's not a C, but that should be even more reason to give it to him. He really does deserve it. I've never seen a 6'9'' forward hold it down defensively the way he has the last few seasons. 2. With JJ playing so many minutes a game, what are we gonna do with all of these SG's? Trade 'em at some point? 3. Why didn't we pick up a decent big man in the offseason, or at least try? God forbid Horford gets hurt, even for a 20-30 game stint. There go any thoughts of playoffs. 4. Will the Hawks make a big trade before the deadline, and wouldn't it have been better to do so before training camp rather than mid-season? If you remember, it took Bibby a minute to adjust.. 5. As "pete" already asked, what about West, Salim, JRich and the rumors of White? It looks like the 15 man roster is already filled up.. 6. Will Marvin step up? I know I'm hard on Marv, but seriously, I would be happy if he just moved the ball around a little more..I never cared for Jordan's game for the same reason..Granted, he had six rings, but then again Marv doesn't get the superstar treatment from the refs (palming the ball and then traveling, pushin off to create space, grabbin jerseys to get steals, and of course beatin Nique in the dunk contest bcuz they were in Chicago, etc..)..But back to Marv..He has one of the sickest jumpers which will continue to develop, but if he can just improve his handle, pass the ball more, pick up some post moves from Al, increase his range and actually hustle from time to time, he would be a great player..It seems like he feels a bit too comfortable out there, which is why I loved JChills..I know, he's gone..I know, I know, get over it..But the point I'm tryin to make is that he earned every minute he played..He would come in and literally change the game..He was hungry and he had heart..West had it too..so does David Lee, whose name I've heard mentioned..That's the kind of player I'd like to see him become, and if he doesn't soon, he should be traded for the simple fact that he does have a great jumper and potential..He is the one guy who has trade value that I wouldn't lose sleep over if we lost him..Trust me, nobody would take Speedy and ZaZa for A.Stoudemire, D.Howard, or even L.Aldridge..
I feel like I'm gettin a bit too negative here, so I'd like to close on a positive note..Forget questions, here are a few things I am certain of for next season..
1. Horford will be a beast, whether he plays C or PF. I'm looking forward to seeing his game continue to improve. 2. Joe Johnson will continue to be the most slept on player at SG. The only reason he makes the All-Star team is because the coaches vote him in. I'd love to see him have a career year with the addition of a solid 3pt shooter in Evans and another guy who can create his own shot in Flip. 3. Although I thought the Hawks could have done more in the off-season, this team definitely has more depth. I'd like to see who plays and who sits now that we have options. 4. Acie Law will emerge as the Hawks first solid starting PG since J.Terry if he is given the opportunity. 5. JChills will be MVP in Greece..

Some times I think we didn't see the same games. Smooth and Hartford will be better on offense if they get the ball where and when they need it. Bibby and Law have yet to prove they can get the ball inside and make passes that bring out their talents. But we still have Joe Johnson to bail us out - then and now. I blame some of that on the coach. When we take it to the hoop is when we play our best. Even JJ, I'd bench them a couple minutes every time they shot a jumper early in the clock to send the message. I give a lot more respect to Marvin and ZaZa. I look for both to have good years. For the entire team to gell, the starters need to give up minutes so the bench can develope. We need to play 10 players. Not 7. Continue to Run Run Run. Rotate more to keep them fresh. ComeOn coach. ZaZa, Hartford, and Smooth playing against bigger teams would be a good experment. If all else fails we have all star JJ to pick up the slack. Maybe Speedy will prove all of us wrong and be the key to taking us the next level. Remember most of these guys are still very young. The best yet is three to four years from now. Go Hawks!

Posted by: Ken on September 10, 2008 3:43PM EST
Where to begin... Okay, first I'd just like to shoot some love to Joe Johnson, who is still very under-rated. He is argueably a top-20 player in the league, but hasn't led his team deep into the playoffs yet. That is not his fault; it's that the rest of the team is so young. He is the guy teams key on every night and his stats still stand up with the tops of the league... Secondly, for all those who believe the hawks are in such desperate need of a big man (and it wouldn't hurt), they'd benefit the most from a great point guard. The way the team is stacked with so many atheletes, if they had a point guard, a la Chris Paul, who could control the fast break and get everyone the ball where they're most successful, they'd be averaging well over a 100 pts/gm. And the defense is already pretty good. But I know neither great point guard nor good big man is easy to come by... Third of all, I'm happy the hawks were able to keep Josh Smith (however it happened), cause we tend to forget how difficult it is to lure top players to the hawks. It sucks that we lost Chills. We will really miss his energy off the bench. The pieces we managed to scrape together; we will see. But with everyone working out together early before training camp, hopefully everyone will gel together... Lastly, going forward I think Josh Smith and Al Horford will be the staples of the team. I don't think it's any question what Smoove brings and Al is the best big man the hawks have had since I can remember, they better lock him up early. Marvin Williams future depends so much on his progression this year. If he doesn't produce as a number 2 pick should, we need to move on. Obviously Joe Johnson is currently the best player on the team and we should keep him. But with our mangagement, I don't know if we can keep everyone. Especially if none of our point guards pan out and we go down that road again. Plus if we go backwards at all this season it may be time for an upgrade at coach. We have too much talent, not to be producing w's. Let's all fill up Phillips arena to be that sixth man and let the rest of the NBA know how we love basketball in the A!!!

|
|
Posted by: Abionix on September 13, 2008 12:10AM EST
Actually in Hot Spot one important characteristic is not considered. It is ability to co-operate with other player Hawks in post. I wish to tell, that Childress appeared simply from unexpected places and promoted players Atlanta. It was its well-known zone, all its best moments are connected with it. About Maurice Evans, I think that before its record in a new season will approach to record Childress or to an own record of last year, it should study many sheaves and combinations with players Hawks for more successful interaction. Practice will show. Today I trust in it...

this discussion is just a waste of time...the problem is the coach! as long as we have a coach like woody we won't get into the playoffs. he's too narrow to realize that he have more talent and options in the bench compared last season. i bet that he will stick with 6-7 man rotation. look what happened to salim, mario, solo, acie etc last season. all wasted talent. if woody is smart enough to split time efficiently among his players i'm sure we could've a better record last season...i bet in the end most of the players that we've signed won't be even get a chance to play. no play...no exposure...no development. NO PLAYOFFS! u count on it!
we should've signed d'antoni or avery as our coach when we still had a chance. they know how to utilize their player's potential to become more effective.

Good point bibby10. The only point I will add is that Woody will be under much more pressure this year. Our expectation for reaching the playoff will be demanded for sure. This year, we are not hoping we make the playoff, we are expecting to make the playoff. I say this because even with departure of Childress, we are preceived to be better than last year with the additional players. Everybody talking about Marvin having a break-out year, in fact, it is Woody who must have the break-out year also. WOODY IF YOU ARE READING THIS THAN YOU BETTER BEWARE: NO PLAYOFF, THAN YOU CAN KISS A CONTRACT EXTENSION GOODBYE!! IF WE REALLY STINK THIS YEAR, THAN YOU ARE FIRED AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK!!

RE: TO BIBBY10.UNFORTUNATELLY I HAVE TO AGREE W/U MAN.WOODSON IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM. 1.HE DOES NOT PLAY ENOUGH PLAYERS 2.HE DOES NOT DEVELOP THE YOUNG PLAYER HES GOT 3.HE DOES NOT HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO RUN THIS TEAM 4.NO OFFENSE.WHAT DO I MEAN IS-TERRIBLE IN PLAY CALLING.ALL WE DO UNDER HIS REGIME IS GIVE THE BALL TO JJ AND WATCH HIM CREATE.WELL THATS GREAT BUT EVERY OPPONENT NOW KNOWS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEND AND THEY TRAP HIM.MAKE HIM KICK THE BALL TO SOME OF ATL 'GOOD' SHOOTERS,WHALE PLAYERS LIKE SALIM AND JEREMY ARE ON THE BENCH EVEN THO THEY R THE ONLY PPL WHO CAN OPEN UP THE FLOOR FOR JJ.HE(WOODY)MAY SAY WELL THE DONT PLAY GOOD DEFENCE-WELL,THEN TEACH THEM.IF U CANT THAN U ARE NOT A GOOD COACH.LEAVE FINALLY. IM SURE A LOT OF PPL WHO PLAYED ORGANIZED BASKETBALL ON SOME LEVEL IN THEIR LIVE CAN SEE THAT A LOT OF TIME THE TEAM HAS NO IDEA WHAT TO DO IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS.I CAN RECOL ATLEAST 7 OR 8 GAMES LAST SEASON THAT WE'VE LOST BECAUSE OF THIS.AGAIN-NOT COACHED. I WOULD'VE CONTINUED BUT THE TRUE IS THIS.I HOPE WE START BAD THIS SEASON AND LET WOODY GO.THATS THE ONLY CHANCE WE HAVE TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS AGAIN.AND SINCE I MENTIONED THE PLAYOFFS,SORRY TO SAY IT WOODY BUT U DID NOT WIN THOSE 3 GMS AGAINST BOSTON LAST SEASON,THE PLAYERS DID,WITH THEIR HEART.ATL WON BECAUSE OF THEIR RELENTLESS EFFORT.IT WAS NOT YOUR GAME PLAN,I WILL BE SURPRIZED IF U EVEN HAD ONE. IT WAS ALL TALENT.AND ITS ABOUT TIME TO GET A REAL COACH WHO CAN HELP THESE PLAYERS TO GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL. GO HAWKS!! LATER ALL

it should be a full team effort...we should get avery and fire woodson! our team could've been better if we got d'antoni as our coach. an up tempo type of game fits well with the players that we have. we already have a good distributor in bibby/acie? shooters in jj, flip, evans, bibby, marvin? and highflyers or running bigman in josh and horford. i hope solo will come up big this season. he's a big factor for the success of this team. now all we need is a good coach who knows how to develop his players. i agree with bibby10...
"if woody is smart enough to split time efficiently among his players i'm sure we could've a better record last season...i bet in the end most of the players that we've signed won't be even get a chance to play. no play...no exposure...no development. NO PLAYOFFS! u count on it!"

I think it will be really interesting to see. If all the players are really hitting it hard early in the summer like they claim to be, we should see something special come november. All the guys who say they've beefed up and are in the best shape of their life (marvin, solo) I'd like to see how that plays out on the court. And if Marvin has really made strides in his 3-point shot it will be big because he plays more minutes than the shooters on the bench. Ultimately it will be good to see J-smoove, Big Al, and Marv working in the post and taking it to the basket more. That'll create more scoring, higher field goal percentage, and more trips to the free throw line. And if our bench players are ready to step up (given the opportunity) then there goes the neighborhood!

I PLAY THE NBA 2K8 ON 360 AND UPDATED THE ROSTERS OF ALL THE TEAMS MINUS 08 ROOKIES AND RANDOMED 3 DIFFERENT SEASONS. THE HAWKS MADE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS EVERY TIME. ONCE TO THE EASTERN COF. FINALS. THEY NEED TO HIRE ME AS THE COACH BECAUSE ALL WE NEED IS 4 SET PLAYS FOR JOE AND 2 SET PLAYS FOR THE PG, SF, PF. OTHER THAN SET PLAYS FOR HALF COURT BALL. THE HAWKS SHOULD RUN RUN RUN RUN! TO YOUNG AND TALENTED LOOK AT PHILLY, MO CHICS LET THEM BOYS RUN AND PLAY OFF TALENT. ONLY PLAY CALLS ARE INBOUNDS PLAYS AND HALFCOURT. PLAY EVERYONE ON THE TEAM AND RUN!!!!!!

if there's only any way that we can get chandlier from the hornets. it will be really cool to see all our 1-5 players run in the floor and finish. in my opinion tyson is the center that bests fit with our system an uptempo type of player and he's the type of center that we need. a running defensive big man and freakishly strong and athletic. he fits well with our team. he's the guy that we need. i hope we can get him.

Ummmm don't think we will be gettin chandler anytime soon. He's becoming a star with Chris Paul. It's not like we would be able to get him the ball the same way Paul does anyways

Hey Micah, Mario from Turner here, Is it out of the question to think we can win the SE division this year....I think we were right their with Orlando and Washington last year and with a year under our belts we should be able to overtake them...What is the word around the NBA on the Hawks this year????
Also did we not lobby for more or any games on TNT this year...I see we have one nationally televised game this year on ESPN, how is this????
